"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer... All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need... They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:42-47
What are LIFE Groups?
Family LIFE groups is a small groups ministry of Lamar Avenue that encourages families to grow closer in their relationship with God and build Christian relationships with one another. LIFE is an acrostic that stands for Love, Involvement, Fellowship, Evangelism. LIFE groups meet in the homes of members and are facilitated by trained leaders. Groups meet at various times throughout the month on Sundays.
In a church the size of Lamar Avenue, we find that small groups are a great way to get to know each other better and to form long lasting relationships with one another. Groups are comprised of individuals and families of all ages in our church (each group will vary in size depending on guests and new members). New groups are formed periodically to further nurture relationships with other families.
Nurture & Support
It is our prayer that through our LIFE groups we can seek to take better care of our members when they hurt, suffer loss, or have special needs. It is also our prayer that we can spread the Good News of Jesus to our neighborhoods and community. Many of our groups are involved in community outreach and service projects.
